Those who read my novel Powdered Gold will recall the controversy over the Tucson lead artifacts discovered in the 1920s. Scott Wolter and other geologists have examined them and concluded that, based on the geology, the artifacts are at least many hundreds of years old, validating their 8th Century AD dating. But some Latin scholars have analyzed the inscriptions and concluded they were lifted from modern Latin textbooks by a hoaxer. Recently an expert on medieval Latin studied the artifacts and has declared them to be genuine:

In my mind, this pretty much resolves this issue, making these artifacts some of the most important pieces of evidence of early exploration of America.

Mr. Brody,
I am reading your Templar novels and recently read Zena Halpern’s book on Oak Island. Fascinating info and I look forward to reading more.
It would certainly help me, and others I think, if a timeline could be created that outlines Templar activities over the centuries. I have found a few but they do not include any North America activities. Certainly, a timeline on just the North America treks, missions, and voyages would be very helpful.
One other item, that i have thought about is DNA testing of North American Native Americans that might show mixed marriages with Europeans as have been inferred in your novels and in Zena’s book. Do you know of anything in this area?
Thanks
Zack O’Donnell
Hi Zack. Good idea on a timeline. I've never seen one. 1179--Cremona Document voyage. 1398--Prince Henry Sinclair. Those are the only 2 that I know of, though the Diana Muir journals speak of a series of voyages in the 1350s and later. As for DNA testing, I know that some testing was done with the Mi'kmaq and the Sinclair clan but nothing conclusive was learned. Hopefully as the science progresses, we'll learn more. Thanks for reading and for reaching out!
